When did the Pittsworth Women's Shed move to the new shed 'Pearl's Precinct'?
Great News
On December 21 2024 the Women's Shed, generously donated by local man Trevor Saal and family in memory of his Wife and mother "Pearl"
We have moved and settled into the new Pittsworth Women's Shed. There was such an air of excitement at the opening, the Pittsworth Women's Shed appreciates the use of the shed and look forward to working closely with the women of Pittsworth and the greater Darling Downs area for many years to come.
How can I get involved?
Getting involved is easy!
Membership is only $20 per year. You don't need to join immediately, just come along and enjoy a chat and morning tea at 10am each day we're open and see if you like what you see and hear.
We open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and by appointment for Coach Tours and other groups.
Your support helps us create a safe space for women and make a difference in women's lives in the Pittsworth and greater Darling Downs Region.
It is not a problem if you can't sew, crochet or knit, please come along, join us for a cuppa and a chat at 10:00 each day we're open.
The Pittsworth Women's Shed will soon start workshops and running events at the new Shed.
Do you accept item donations?
We gladly accept any fabric etc you no longer need
We are a registered Charity and are always on the lookout for any material or other gear that you no longer need.
All the item donated are turned into comforting gifts for those in need; including for underprivileged children who often arrive at Foster Homes with very little of their own.
We also need fabric for our ladies to 'practice' on as they learn to sew.
We are looking forward to running classes in sewing, knitting and crocheting in the very near future.
Financial Gifts
Of course, we'd love to receive financial donations, but if you have any material or wool you no longer need, we'll be able to put them to good use, creating special gifts for those in need.
