History of Pittsworth Women's Shed

In the beginning
The Pittsworth Women’s Shed started in June 2022 at Cooks Cordial Factory in Pittsworth.
We received an order from Child Care Centre Withcott for Library Bags and Christmas Sacks.
We donated Clothing Protectors, Wheelchair Bags, Wheelie Walker Bags, Touchy Feely Mats for Patients living with Dementia.
On 14th February 2024 the Cooks Cordial Factory was sold needing us to move. We took up the offer of renting the downstairs part of 67 Yandilla Street Pittsworth.
We have now made our final move into the massive, purpose-built shed located on the grounds of the Pittsworth Historical Pioneer Village 'Pearl's Precinct', made possible by the generosity of Trevor Saal and family in honour of his loving wife and their mother "Pearl"

Local man Trevor Saal and family donated the massive shed in memory of his Wife and mother 'Pearl'.
We help those in need
Jenny Black from the Wellness Centre Toowoomba ordered Breast Pillows, Seat Belt Covers and Turbans.
Blush Cancer Office ordered Head Scarves, Breast Pillows and Seat Belt Covers.
St Andrews Hospital Toowoomba ordered Turbans, Quilts and Rugs.
Hope for Our Children ordered (for Foster Children) received a donation of T-shirts, Quilts, Bibs, Rugs, Baby Booties. 200 Santa Sacks will be delivered to them before Christmas.
We have delivered to areas outside Pittsworth; areas including Toowoomba; Warwick; Chinchilla; Back Plains School; Gympie and the Sunshine Coast.
Although we do not usually request payment for the items our Ladies make, any money offered is greatly appreciated.
Primarily though, we make comforting gifts for those in need. Everything we create we do with love and donate them to those in need.
We gratefully accept donations of material, cloth, wool, wadding and anything else that might have been cluttering up your cupboards for years. Bring it all along and we'll put it to good use. We also gladly accept donations of money – but this is not our main goal.
Our Aim, Purpose and Mission Statement are to donate as much as we can to any facility that needs help.
We are a Charity Organisation. When we do receive money for our hand-,made items, we use the money to buy fabric, thread, elastic and to pay for the organisation’s rent, insurance, and power.
Due to the great generosity of Local man Trevor Saal and family who donated the massive shed in memory of his Wife and mother 'Pearl'; we have now moved into the massive, purpose-built shed located on the grounds of the Pittsworth Historical Pioneer Village.
Empowering Through Handcrafting
Pittsworth Women's Shed, located in Pittsworth, Queensland, Australia, is a sanctuary for women.
Our shed is a safe place where women can come and have a cuppa and a chat while we create comforting items for those in need including for underprivileged children.
We believe that, by providing a safe and supportive environment, the Pittsworth Women's Shed will help empower women, through creativity and community involvement; making a positive impact in their lives and in those around them.
